Dear Fellow Rotarians,

This year is flying by, with only 4 Rotary meetings to go this year!

I'd like to begin with a reminder about our meeting this Tuesday 22nd November.
We have a Guest Speaker, Dorothy Docherty from Guide Dogs Victoria who will be coming along to tell us her story, along with her two dogs.
I urge everyone to come along and bring your partners, family & friends too.

On Saturday night a group of us attended a Trivia Night to support the Rotary Club of Boronia in their efforts to raise funds for a SkyHydrant.  It was a great success and fabulous night was had by all.

Our final letters for the year have been sent to our 'Little Buddies' at St. Mary's Primary School, this has been a great program.  Thanks so much to Colin, Ken & Lynn and Ben for joining me in this very valuable Literacy program.

CORNERSTONE MEALS:  this Thursday 24th November at 5pm
VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED to help with catering, cooking and serving.

Naomi has requested we have a BBQ meal in celebration of our Centenary Shelter & Garden project.  We will be providing sausages and veggie burgers, baked potatoes, salad and a dessert.
All to be served in 'take away' containers to save time with clean up.

All Rotarians and partners are invited to join us for dinner.

I'm looking for volunteers to make a salad, i.e. tossed salad or coleslaw, if you are able to help out, please email me or SMS 0402 242 743, your help would be greatly appreciated.

On a final note, PLEASE RSVP to all events on our calendar to simplify Martin's and my preparation and accurate numbers for meetings and events.

I have sent out invitations for our Christmas dinner meeting on Tuesday 6th December.  If you have not received this invitation, please let me know.

Kind regards,

Leanne

Vale June O'Doherty
Last Monday we farewelled longtime member Rotarian June O'Doherty.

June was a true Rotarian in every way, her commitment and dedication to
Rotary and the local community were commendable.

June and her husband Jim, built and established North Lodge Swimming
Academy in November 1966. Amongst other things, June was a
Swimming Coach, Artist, Teacher of Art and English at Wellsprings and
singer in a choir.

Her proudest achievement would have been her amazing family -her
husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is now reunited with her beloved Jim.

RC Boronia Trivia Night - SkyHydrant fundraiser
The Rotary Club of Boronia held an amazing Trivia Night last night to raise funds towards a Sky hydrant installation.
Over 80 people attended with a trivia contest, lucky squares, coin tosses and silent auctions.
A major auction was also held with our own Marty as the auctioneer 'extraordinaire'.

Our Club had a table with Peter and Lois, Marty and Wilma, Cherie, Jan, President Leanne
and Colin. Gus's daughter Monique and Mark both members of Boronia did a great job organizing the event.

St Mary's Primary School - Big Buddy Program

Last Thursday we completed the Literacy Buddy's program with St Mary's Primary School
with an excursion to the Moorabbin Airport Air Musuem. The children heard from two incredible
female pilots and then completed a STEM activity which required them to build a Glider in their teams.

A wonderful program run by Ardoch. A big thanks to Ben, Ken and Lyn and Leanne and Colin.
