'Changing Lives Forever'
 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
'Collaboration with other clubs
enables us to achieve great results'

I am extremely proud to announce the fundraising TOTAL from the
District 9815 Governor's Partner Project
in the year of
'The Magic of Rotary'
 $210,500.00
All funds have been transferred to Monash Foundation from the District account,
my Fundraise for Purpose FB page
and Rotary's Got Talent.

The final amount of $1313.51 was transferred last week which comprised of:
Rotary's Got Talent, a project of our Satellite Club and supported by our club, and many District 9815 Rotarians, made a profit of $1,208.47
Along with a small amount of funds ($11) from
Recycled bottles/cans and a top up from RCGDEH of $94.04 it brought the total for the
D9815 Partner Project to the incredible total which is supporting Apheresis 'Stem Cell' Therapy.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to our Club and the many Clubs and Rotarians throughout
District 9815 for their generous donations.
A very special THANK YOU goes to the Rotary Club of Emerald for their support.
The Puffing Billy Fun Run event proceeds from November 2024 were donated to the project.
The incredible amount of $41,000 was donated specifically for the RESEARCH
component of Apheresis.

On Thursday morning, Anne, Richard and I had the pleasure of attending the Greater Dandenong
Club Leadership Workshop at Springvale Town Hall.
This event brought together Service Clubs and organisations within the City of Greater Dandenong. The 2 hour session provided a great networking opportunity, inspirational guest speakers and a
'Council Grants' information session.
A highlight was the connection made with the
Noble Park 'View Club' which is a local women's volunteer network formed in 1994 and associated with The Smith Family.  The ladies were very keen to learn about Rotary and particularly about DAA's 'Safe Water for Every Child'.
As a result, I was contacted and invited to attend their meeting on October 6th, along with Cherie.
Cherie will do a DAA SmartAid Ultra Filter presentation
for the View Club.

At Thursday night's meeting we had a very productive 'round table' brainstorming session about our passion projects.
All of these ideas and plans will be forwarded to all
club members in a document sent via email.

District Governor Emma Clark, ran a very informative President's Meeting at the Atura in Dandenong on Friday night.
The speakers were outstanding and inspiring, leaving all President's feeling motivated and enthused about the current Rotary year.
********************
The Men's Shed Open Day was held on
Saturday 22nd August.
Unfortunately, Colin and I were unable to attend due to another commitment.  I truly hope that some of our members were there alongside our regulars who attend the Men's Shed every Tuesday.

Bookings by September 11th are essential.
The District 9815 team has been working on a Membership strategy and flyers which will enable all Rotarians to have the ability to explain what Rotary is all about in a way that is attractive to potential new members.
This was a HOT TOPIC at the Presidents Meeting.
I will forward information to all members very soon.

ALL club members are encouraged to contribute to our Gateway Newsletter.
PLEASE forward photos and stories to Leanne for inclusion in our weekly newsletter.
