President's Message
 A message on behalf of
Interim President John Peck

Welcome to the second half of our Rotary year which promises to be great if our 'kick off' event last      Tuesday night is any indication.
A fabulous night was had by all who attended, Rotarians, partners and friends were all very relaxed        enjoying fellowship and good food.
Our chefs, Graeme, Joe & Phil were all hard at work cooking up a storm on the Club's trailer                  BBQ, the meat was served along with lovely homemade salads, then followed by some                          delicious homemade desserts.
Not forgetting the drinks of course, which complimented the dinner and helped 'kick off' the        night.
Thanks to all who took the time to attend and to prepare dishes for the night. We look forward to            more social events in the future, which will contribute to more variety, fun and positive experiences.

Tomorrow night we have a couple of Rotarians visiting from the Rotary Club of Frankston North,
along with an update and planning for the Car Show in March.

See you all tomorrow night in the Napoleon Room at the Dandenong Club.  Please remember to
  RSVP as soon as possible.

  Cheers,

  John Peck.

The 'Kick off' meeting was held at Hilton Laminating (corporate HQ) and as the BBQ stuff stored there was pushed out, members brought camping chairs resulting in a great relaxed social evening to kick off the year. It was good to catch up with members.

This Tue 30th January 2024 meeting will be essential to attend with the car show planning and sorting out roles (or you may get nominated). Hope to see everyone there!
You can use this logo for your social media posts and the web link for your friends to register their cars and attend can be found at

Stephanie Urchick
announces new theme.
DGE & partner Leanne meet Stephanie Urchick
International Assembly Cultural Night
International Assembly 2024-2025 DG & partners cohort supporting Australian Rotary Health
'Physical Health for Mental Health'.
DGE Colin & Leanne Byron attended the International Assembly in Orlando, Florida from January 7th - 11th.
The experience and training were phenomenal, and a perfect example of what Rotary is all about.
Over 2,000 Rotarians and partners from all over the world attended this amazing event.
Our club member Hans van Dyk will be doing the joint 9810 & 9820 ride to conference and looking for sponsors. ...........

Hans Van Dyk has entered the D9810 37th annual Rotary Ride For Medical Research to be held in March 2024, this will be their last ride before we merge.

The ride serves as a ROTARY awareness and naturally a fundraiser for Australian Rotary Health (ARH) which is one of the largest independent funders of mental health research in Australia. They also provide funding over broad range of general health areas with the vision to improve the health and wellbeing of all Australians.

  • This year’s ride is 600k over 6 days from 3rd to 8th March centred at Shepperton.
  • Riders will be split into one of the three teams, depending on ability and fitness and ride as far as they like within the bounds of each day’s route..
  • Support vehicles will pick up anyone that’s tired, uncomfortable, need a rest or have mechanical issues.
  • Riders and support crew pay to participate which covers all expenses.
  • Only one other rider from D9820 has entered at this time which is a little disappointing.
  • Participation requires seeking sponsorship.
  • 100% of all sponsored donations is directed to ARH from who the receipts will be supplied.

I cant guarantee you that I’ll complete the full distance but will give it my best shot.

Now the hard part is for hans is to seek sponsorship.
