Dear Rotarians,
I hope you have all enjoyed the weekend and are preparing for a busy Rotary week ahead.
On Tuesday (3rd October) we have two young ladies coming along to tell us about their experiences as Rotary Exchange Students. Feel free to bring along friends and family.
Tanya Faulkner works at Star News and has a long-standing history with Rotary and is also a body builder, so you'd better watch out!
Michelle Lewis works at Lyndale Secondary College as the Inclusion and Wellbeing Leader. Michelle has had
a wonderful relationship with Rotary as an exchange student and in past roles at her previous school. She also has a 'legacy project' in mind which she'd like to share with us that will greatly impact the school and
the community.
On Thursday (5th October), we have 2 events happening, the first being the Playground Harvest at Frederick Wachter Reserve in Keysborough.
Mel and several of our Rotarians will be there working from 8am until late afternoon. It would be great for others to go along as helpers or observers so can see what is involved, to check out (with Rotarians from Frankston also there to learn) this amazing team at work.
The RORP program disassembles unwanted Australian play equipment and then ships it to countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, New Guinea and Timor to name a few to be installed for the local deserving children.
Our second event is the Operation Newstart Intake 59 Graduation Ceremony also on Thursday 5th November which starts at 1pm at the Casey City Church, 426 Princes Hwy, Narre Warren.
Please email Leanne or send her a text 0402 242 743 if you plan on going to Operation Newstart, so that Leanne can notify Jimmy Seeary. A copy of the invitation is on the newsletter.
Also attached to the newsletter is a copy of the Annual Calcutta Flyer, details were also emailed to all members by Secretary Leanne on Wednesday 27th September.
See you all on Tuesday night for an interesting and fun filled meeting. Please remember to RSVP or Decline on ClubRunner or Text Leanne on Monday.
Finally, please remember to bring along your $5 which is being reintroduced to help cover the cost of meals for Guest speakers. Thank you.
Cheers,
John Peck
