An update on the regular "Brand New Day" lawn mowing (and need to take along a hedge trimmer next time).
An update on preparation on the car show and general discussion in readiness for on-site meeting 2pm Saturday and the show where we will meet a 6am on Sunday 10 March 2024 to set up pergolas etc. in readiness to let in entrants at the advertised opening of 7am or earlier. Presentation / discussion included:
Layout and implications of council restriction to one oval we normally use
The various area for the Food vendors and merchandisers
Kids entertainment with face painting and mascots (hope those costumes provide shade and ventilation with forecast heat)!
Evacuation plans
Paperwork will be made available for first aid and incident reports.
Rotarians to bring hats, water bottles, Rotary t-Shirts, fluorescent vests (if have them although we have some) and a sense of humour!
Expected finish is 2pm with an additional hour to dismantle pergolas, bring in bins etc.
confirmation of the allocation of tasks etc.

Hans complete the D9820 Ride for Medical Research (see below)
Brian for Disaster Aid doing inspections in Buhtan to ensure the Skyhydrants remain viable (and ensure budgeting for replacement filters etc. in around 5 years' time) - see report below.

Congratulations to Hans, all the Riders and Support crew.
What an incredible accomplishment:
597.7km in 6 days and $23,655 raised for
ARH Medical Research.
WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED!
This week Hans finished the D9810 Ride for Medical Research completing 597.57 KM in 6 days.
All went very well for riders and support who have now gathered $23,655 in sponsorship and counting, I might add that non-Rotarians are included to help bolster the numbers.
Many thanks again to members who have supported my participation and who’s sponsorship encouraged me to complete each day's ride.
The ride showcased Rotary in the Shepparton region and supported many cafes in towns we passed through as well as a club and hotel where we dined and the “Bates” motel which accommodated us.
The ride sponsors were many, including vehicles supplied by Mazda and Kia.
Now the committee mostly from Boronia Rotary will sit down and analyse the ride and ponder what the future may be for D9815.
The ride which started in 1993 has now raised a total of more than $1,300,000 for ARH.

As part of Brian's Disaster Aid review of the Bhutan SkyHydrants he visited this installation at Tendruk HSS on Friday 8 March 2024
It has now been operating for 5 years protecting the health of 1200 students and 100 staff.
The review of operations will include future needs and budgeting for the inevitable filter change (possibly 5 years from now).

Our Annual All Holden Car Show
on Sunday 10th March was another successful one,
attracting hundreds of proud Holden owners and fanatics.
A huge THANK YOU to John Ternel for all his hard work in the months leading up to the Car Show and on the day, the many volunteers from our club who assisted
in the lead up to the event and on the day,
and Casey, Belgrave and Berwick Rotarians for all their hard work on Sunday.
