Good morning fellow Rotarians,

It was great to see so many of you at our joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Casey last Tuesday in the Napoleon Room, it was a fabulous night.

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and were inspired by our Guest Speakers, Matt Degruchy Vision and Grant & Russell - Wheelchairs for Kids.
Anne Burgess, Principal of James Cook Primary School in Endeavour Hills was also in attendance and gave a brief update on the upgrade of the benches in the playground, thanks to Howard and his team of volunteers from the Men's Shed and Rotarian Ken Tam, they did a fantastic job.
Howard has also organised to complete the works we planned for the school by refurbishing the sand pits this week.

ANZAC DAY - Tuesday 25th APRIL - If anyone is interested in attending the Dawn Service at 6am next Tuesday, I have organised a wreath to be laid at 'The Pillars of Freedom, Clow Street, Dandenong which is opposite the market.

Colin and I will be there and would love it if some more members of our club could join us.
Please respond on ClubRunner or text me on 0402 242 743 if you are able to come along.

Tomorrow night is our DAA (92 Doveton Ave, Eumemmering) vocational visit, there is a maximum capacity of 20 people.
Please get your RSVP's in quickly on ClubRunner so you don't miss out!

NO MEETING next TUESDAY 25th April - ANZAC Day,
so please consider joining
Colin and I at the Dawn Service.

JUST A FRIENDLY reminder that we will continue meeting in the Napoleon Room at the Dandenong Club moving forward.  Drinks and meal orders will be taken by the staff
but PLEASE REMEMBER exactly what you order and pay the appropriate amount prior to leaving.
Unfortunately, we were left picking up a few unpaid bills at the end of the night last Tuesday.

Have a great day!

Leanne

Club Night 11th April 2023
What a great meeting. We were joined by the Rotary Club of Casey to listen to some inspirational stories.
Matt Degrunchy a blindness and disability advocate speaking about his life and how important it is to
break down the stereotypes and stigmas surrounding all disabilities.

We also had an update from Grant and Russell on the wonderful inspirational story of Wheelchairs for
Kids changing the lives of children and their families around the world. The Club made a donation for
the purchase of 2 more wheelchairs.

Finally, a big thanks from Ann the Principal of James Cook Primary School for the work done to repair
and replace outdoor seating thanks to Club members and the Endeavour Hills Men's Shed.

RYLA
The annual RYLA program is due to commence in late June this year. (Refer to the program details below). If you
know anyone between 18 and 30 years of age that would benefit from this amazing program, please let Leanne or
Peter know. The Club can sponsor a participant.
Rotary Youth Leadership Academy Seminar

Welcome to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program. Run in conjunction with District 9820, this program is a transformational leadership conference open to 18- to 30-year-olds who are looking to develop their leadership potential, build lasting connections and gain new insights and experiences.

It focuses on

  •  Developing young leaders who celebrate diversity, create sustainable change, and become service-minded global citizens.
  • Personal development, leadership, and teamwork.
  • Provide conflict resolution strategies alongside leadership training.
  • Emphasize professional development and connect participants with opportunities to serve the community through Rotary.
  • Combine leadership development and vocational training to help young people discover their potential and hone skills.

Participants will engage in a range of activities, including workshops, team- building exercises, outdoor activities, and guest speaker presentations.

Our program is led by experienced facilitators and mentors who are dedicated to helping participant achieve their full potential. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can learn, grow and thrive.

Rotary  Clubs financially support  participants to attend. Costs in 2022 to sponsor were $1049 per participant and $750 per leader - prices for 2023 will be released shortly.

The next Rotary Youth Leadership Awards will be held from the 26th of June to 1st of July, 2023 to align with university semester breaks.

RYLA 2023 is a joint initiative run by District 9810 and District 9820 and held as a 6 day live in seminar.
