Partner Project Fundraiser
We are delighted to share highlights from the fundraiser dinner held on Tuesday night in support of Leanne's partner project, the Monash Children's Cancer Centre.
The evening was a testament to the power of collaboration and the commitment of our community to worthy causes.
We had an impressive turnout, with 17 members from our Club joining 90 Rotarians, Rotaractors, family members, and partners from 15 Clubs across the District.

On Saturday, August 3rd, an incredibly well-coordinated team came together to load twelve refurbished playgrounds into a shipping container, destined for Cape Town, South Africa. This extraordinary effort showcased the true power of teamwork and community spirit.
Approximately 25 Rotarians and Rotaractors from Dandenong/EH, Berwick, Frankston, Phillip Island, and a group of five enthusiastic, strong, and patient Bougainvilleans worked tirelessly throughout the day. Their hard work was rewarded with a delightful array of savory and sweet treats, generously provided by Anne Shaw (MMRC President) and Jenny Jenkins, wife of Wayne Jenkins (RORP District Coordinator).
This event was a brilliant example of "many hands make light work" and a wonderful collaboration of Rotary clubs coming together. Nellie from the Frankston Club brought along five young Bougainvilleans, here on working visas, who demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing the laborious task of moving all the playground pieces into the container. Initially told they would be working for just a few hours, they stayed the entire day without complaint, bringing an amazing energy to the project.
A special thank you goes to Howard and Ken, who represented our club and contributed to the effort.
Looking ahead, the next container shipment is scheduled for December and will be heading to Cambodia.
Let's continue to work together and make a difference!

These BBQs are not only fantastic opportunities for us to engage with our community but also vital for raising funds that support our projects.

Inaugural District 9815 Conference 8 - 30 March 2025
Bookings for the Inaugural District 9815 Conference to be held in Bendigo 28 - 30 March 2025 open from Monday 29th of July.
Partners, family, friends, potential members, supporters, and alumni are welcome.
Early Bird Tickets are available between 29 July - 30 September 2024 for $295. Individual session details and costs are outlined on the booking site.

WASH ROTARY ACTION GROUP
93 Projects - $9 Million
District 5340 maintains a database of Global and District Grants submitted by clubs. On the large list of Global Grants, you can select the search feature to get a list of only WASH projects. They are currently showing 28 projects with a budget of $2 million.
Clubs can submit a project looking for funding, pledge money to a project, and find an International Club.
Attendance and Participation: Regularly attend club meetings and participate actively in club activities and projects.
Service Projects: Engage in community service projects, both locally and internationally, aimed at addressing humanitarian needs, promoting goodwill, and fostering peace.
Fundraising: Contribute to fundraising efforts that support Rotary's service projects and charitable activities.
Vocational Expertise: Share their professional skills and expertise to benefit others within the club and in service projects.
Ethical Standards: Adhere to high ethical standards in their personal and professional lives, reflecting Rotary's commitment to integrity and ethical behavior.
Networking and Fellowship: Build relationships and network with other Rotarians and community leaders, fostering goodwill and understanding.
Membership Growth: Support efforts to grow Rotary's membership and extend invitations to prospective members who embody Rotary's ideals.
Rotary Foundation: Contribute financially to the Rotary Foundation, which funds international scholarships, humanitarian projects, and other charitable efforts.
Public Image: Promote Rotary's mission and achievements within the community and advocate for Rotary's values and initiatives.
Leadership: Serve in leadership roles within the club or district, providing guidance and direction to advance Rotary's goals.
Overall, Rotarians are dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities and the world at large through service, fellowship, and ethical leadership.
