On Saturday, Disaster Aid Australia held their first DAA conference and dinner in 3 years at the Dandenong Club.
It was a great event. The day started with the projects that DAA had delivered during the COVID affected last 2 years.
Over $400,000 of donations was spent on disaster and Fresh water projects in Bhutan, Bangladesh, Philippines and
Timor Leste.

The DAA team have done an incredible job in managing projects remotely, using training videos in local language,
keeping DAA supporters up to date on where their donations were used, and using social media as their prime
marketing tool. Donations from Rotary Clubs continue via Club visits to DAA which includes a dinner.

We also heard from guest speaker Raj from the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Nepal sharing current projects
at the conference. Inspiring to see Rotary in action making a difference.

In the afternoon, we heard about the future plans of DAA. Continued focus in the Philippines and Timor Leste
using local and international partners who are looking to use SkyHydrants to help them in their fresh water projects.

It was great to see over 30 people attend the Conference including the incredible DAA team, Partner organisations,
PDG Bill and Judy Degnan, Rotarians from District 9810 and District 9820.

The biggest disappointment was the lack of attendance from members of our Club. This is OUR signature International
project. I would ask all our Club Rotarians to start to better understand OUR project and help spread the word.
